4C's of Diamonds - Care
Diamonds may seem indestructible, but they're not. They are extremely difficult to chip, but it can be done. All Mariloff settings are created with this in mind. Each setting forms a protective casing around the diamond to minimize contact with potential hazards. In order to keep your setting strong and not weaken the prongs or casing, always remove your jewelry while you exercise, clean, sleep, etc.

You should clean your diamonds every other month to keep them looking their best. Cleaning solutions can be purchased from any jeweler, or you can make your own with one part ammonia to six parts water. Remember to always use a soft-bristled brush while gently scrubbing your jewelry. And when you're not wearing your gems, store them in a soft jeweler's cloth.

Twice a year you should also take your jewelry in for a professional cleaning and have the mountings checked.

Of course, if you become a Mariloff Preferred Customer, all jewelry care will be complimentary, including cleanings, inspections and tightening of mountings.
